15th anniversary

Ibercamera and Associació Amics de Cervià Antic, together with the National Center for Music Diffusion, which joins this year as co-producer, are promoting the 15th edition of the Santa Maria de Cervià de Ter's church Music Festival, continuing the desire to endow this true Romanesque gem with musical soul.

We are celebrating our 15th anniversary following the two themes that have shaped our history: the promotion of local talent with the residency of the great violinist Helena Satué and the presence of her Cosmos Quartet, and the visit of international stars with a recital by pianist Varvara.

a Romanesque jewel

Outside the old quarter we find the Benedictine priory of Santa Maria, the oldest architectural monument in Cervià de Ter. The monastery, which was founded in 1053 by the lords of Cervià (Silvi Llobet and Adelaida), preserves the Romanesque church (11th Century) and a good part of the outbuildings, located around the cloister.

The church, which was restored in 1993, has three naves with a transept and three semicircular apses without ornamentation on the outside. The cloister has a square floor plan and smooth columns, some from the medieval period and others from Romanesque, as can be seen by observing the types of stone.

Amics de Cervià Antic is a cultural association created in 2011 with the aim of promoting knowledge, recovery and dissemination of the historical and cultural heritage of Cervià de Ter.
